Subject Object Dichotomy
If on the universal level everything is made of stardust, and at the subatomic level everything is made up of energy, where do we, the observers, end and the world apart from us begin? This thought is attempted to be depicted through painting. Where does the figure stop and the abstraction begin? Can the figure dissolve into the abstraction? The title of the show comes from a longstanding philosophical topic:
The subjective–objective dichotomy is concerned with the analysis of human experience, and of what within experience is "subjective" and what is "objective." The dichotomy arises from the premise that the world consists of objects which are perceived or otherwise presumed by subjects (observers) to exist as entities.
